Honey Dalgona
This whipped coffee recipe is traditionally sweetened with sugar, but we love a mellow healthier sweetener, so we used honey instead! The result is fluffy intense coffee spooned over milk for a beautiful coffee break or dessert.
Honey Dalgona (Whipped Coffee recipe)
(honey, coffee, water + a little time)
Serves 6
What you need:
3 tablespoons organic instant coffee
3 tablespoons hot water
3 tablespoons your favorite Savannah Bee Company honeys (we used Savannah Bee Company Honey for Coffee natch)
3 to 4 cups organic whole milk
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Whip the coffee: Combine the coffee, water, and honey in a medium bowl. Mix with a handheld mixer until it thickens and turns a caramel color, about 5 to 6 minutes.
To Serve: Add ice to glasses and top with ½ to ¾ cup milk. Spoon a dollop of whipped coffee on top and serve with a straw or spoon. It’s also delicious served as a dollop over ice cream or atop a vanilla shake.
Pro Tip: Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a little whisk before using.
Pro Math Tip: No need to make a whole batch make just a single serving in a jar and whip with a handheld milk frother (1 teaspoon coffee).
The ratios are always the same. 1-part organic instant coffee + 1-part honey + 1-part hot water
Table Talk: Dalgona coffee was first served at a convenience store restaurant in South Korea. Have you tried anything at a convenience store lately that you were like WOWZERS…that’s good?!
happy bees. happy earth.
