Give Thanks & Praises
Give Thanks & Praises was the title of my old 1980’s cassette tape filled with reverent roots reggae music. Most (“nuff” in Jamaican patois) reggae is entrenched with a positive take on life, and, in many cases, a positive reaction to life’s trials. Nowhere is that imagery more powerful than in stage photos of the reggae band Israel Vibration belting out songs of love and thanksgiving, with the three singers supported by polio crutches needed since their childhood illness with said disease. Sadly, I have lost that tape somewhere along life’s highway but still listen to reggae and am reminded to be thankful.
The members of Savannah Bee Company fill my mind when I think of Thanksgiving. They are, and have been, working so hard to build the company to its current state. Together we have worked for over two decades making Savannah Bee grow far and wide across this country. Hopefully, we will continue to inspire millions of people every year. That has a tremendous impact. Our 15 stores (web included) host 3 million visitors (about the population of Arkansas) each year and we wholesale more than 5 million beehive products to wholesale customers. Great marketing and engaging customer service get the message out to be thankful for the bees. That is incredible for the ‘little honey company that could’. Pinch me because I must be dreaming!
I am so thankful for this hive and praising them for their continuous work to build this unfolding dream of Savannah Bee Co. Wow! We have just celebrated 15 years in both the Johnny Mercer warehouse and the Broughton Street Store (at least we should have celebrated). Recently we have expanded to another 65,000 sq ft of warehouse space. Where will we be in the next 15 years?
“Only Jah knows” but from my vantage point, the company is headed toward an ever more evolved place for us and the future newbees that join us. In this Thanksgiving season let us all look around the proverbial worktable and give thanks and praises for each other, as well as for the bees and the world they created for us. And let us remember that together we are building the foundations of the best Savannah Bee Company for the coming ages.
