Honey BBQ Chicken
(grilled chicken thighs + honey barbecue sauce)
What You Need:
4 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
½ cup Savannah Bee Company Honey BBQ Sauce, plus more for serving
What to Do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Prep the grill and chicken: Preheat the grill to medium heat (400°F). Rub the chicken with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
3. Grill the chicken: Add the chicken to the hot grill grates. Grill, covered with a grill lid, 20 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer registers 165°F when inserted in the thickest portion. Brush the tops of the chicken with the sauce. Cover and let stand 1 minute.
To Serve: Divide the chicken between serving plates. Serve with extra sauce on the side.
Pro Tip: ALWAYS sauce at the end…always. The sugars in the sauce will burn if sauced too early. With just a couple of minutes left of grilling, give your meats a healthy sauce on both sides. Continue to cook to set the sauce and remove from the grill. Sauce again after removed.
Table Talk: BBQ sauce is like pizza. What you had as a kid is still your favorite. What is your favorite? Mustard, Sweet, White, Vinegar or Hot?
