Sourwood Gold Reserve
Sourwood honey is an award-winning varietal from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. From Southern Living to The World Honey Show, this monofloral honey steals the show locally and internationally. There is an irresistible depth of flavor in Sourwood with delicate notes of maple and spice.
Our Sourwood Gold Reserve comes from Northeast Georgia. Here, in the Appalachian Mountains, the Sourwood trees receive the perfect combination of elevation and precipitation to produce this pristine nectar for honeybees to harvest. During the midsummer season, these trees provide a spectacle of white blossoms cascading at every stem.
Our Sourwood Gold Reserve beekeepers Slade and Christy have spent years perfecting the art of Sourwood. They love their honeybees as much as we do. Slade explains, “We have to respect them because – the bees take care of us and we need to take care of them.”
Beekeeper Slade tells us, “It’s great that Ted and Savannah Bee Company can see the quality and understand how hard it is to produce that nice of a product. It really makes you feel good about having our product in his stores… There’s a lot of pride to it.”
Slade hand selected each frame individually to create this perfect reserve. From the prestigious Sourwood varietal, we are proud to introduce this small-batch 2017 Gold Reserve.
