One Bowl Honey Cupcakes
There are several reasons why this is the best cupcake recipe: the cupcakes are made in one bowl, they make one dozen so you only need one muffin pan, and they have the perfect amount of honey-kissed sweetness from our orange blossom honey.
One Bowl Honey Cupcakes
(sweet, honey-kissed cakes)
Serves 12
What you need:
For the Honey Cupcakes:
2 large eggs
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup Savannah Bee Company honey (we used Orange Blossom Honey)
½ cup vegetable oil
½ cup whole buttermilk
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1¼ teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Honey-Cream Cheese Frosting:
¼ cup salted butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2½ cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons Savannah Bee Company Orange Blossom Honey, or your favorite Savannah Bee Company honey, plus more for drizzling over
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pink food coloring (optional)
Edible flowers (optional), we used orange blossoms
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Make the Cupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners. Whisk together the eggs, sugar, honey, oil, and buttermilk in a large bowl. Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Divide the batter evenly between the paper liners. Bake the cupcakes for 16 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
3. Make the Frosting: Beat the butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar, honey, and vanilla. Tint with desired amount of food coloring, if desired.
To Serve: Spread or pipe the frosting onto the tops of the cooled cupcakes. Drizzle with additional honey, and garnish with edible flowers, if desired.
