Honey Grahams
Fall camping with a group of friends is heaven. Talking around a campfire lit only by the flames and passing marshmallows around the circle is a secret club you can always gain entry to with a tray of homemade grahams.
Honey Grahams
(whole wheat flour, dark brown sugar + tupelo honey)
Makes 24 hex cookies
What you need:
2 cups whole wheat flour, plus more for dusting
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 cup Savannah Bee Company Honey (we used Tupelo Honey)
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Make Dough: In a large mixing bowl sift together the whole wheat flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl cream together butter, brown sugar, honey and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until combined. The dough should be sticky. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
3. Make the Graham Cookies: Preheat oven to 350°F. Divide the dough into quarters and roll out each quarter on a well-floured surface to roughly a 5-inch x 12-inch rectangle. Cut out into your desired shape (ours are hexes of course!) and place onto ungreased baking pan. Prick each cookie with a fork and bake until firm (about 12 minutes).
To Serve: Pair with some good friends, Savannah Bee Company Whipped Honey with Chocolate and our Tupelo Honey Marshmallows for the best s’mores of your life!
Pro Tip: You can cut your grahams into any shape you like!
Table Talk: Campfire smell on your clothes: delightful or disgusting? GO!
