There’s no need for super sugary marshmallows to make these nostalgic bars. Combined with creamy peanut butter, our honey provides the perfect amount of sweetness.
Honey-Peanut Butter Rice Cereal Treats
(a handheld dessert for kids and kids at heart)
makes 9 large treats
What you need:
6½ cups woven rice cereal (such as Rice Chex®)
1 cup Savannah Bee Company® Wildflower Honey, or your favorite Savannah Bee Company® honey
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Prep the Ingredients: Place the cereal in a large bowl. Butter an 8-inch square pan.
3. Start the Rice Cereal Treats: Pour the honey into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter, vanilla, and salt.
4. Finish the Rice Cereal Treats: Pour the honey mixture over the cereal and stir to coat. Press into the prepared pan and let cool to room temperature.
To Serve: Cut the treats into bars and serve.
