Strawberry Rosé Granita

Strawberry Rosé Granita

You’ll love our version of frozéa fruity blend of strawberries and rosé wine sweetened with our bright and citrusy orange blossom honey. It’s the perfect make-ahead refreshing dessert to keep on-hand when you need a sweet treat.

Strawberry Rosé Granita
(a slushy, fruity dessert)
Serves 8 to 12

What you need:
1/3 cup Savannah Bee Company honey (we used Orange Blossom Honey,)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 cups rosé wine
½ cup water
Edible flowers for garnish (optional)

What to do:

1. Wash Up!

2. Macerate the Strawberries: Stir together the honey and lime juice in a large bowl. Add the strawberries and toss to coat well. Let the mixture stand for 15 minutes to allow the juices from the strawberries to release.

3. Puree the Strawberries: Combine the strawberries and juices, wine, and water in a blender. Puree until very smooth. Pour the liquid into a 9- x 13-inch metal baking pan. Cover with aluminum foil.

4. Freeze the Granita: Transfer the pan to the freezer. After 30 minutes, stir the mixture with a fork. Cover and freeze for 4 to 6 more hours, scraping every 1 to 2 hours as the mixture freezes to create fluffy crystals.

To Serve: Scoop the granita into serving glasses or bowls and garnish is edible flowers (optional). Serve immediately.

Pro Tip: Depending on what season it is, your strawberries may not be very sweet. Taste the pureed mixture before freezing and add additional honey if needed.
