Queen Bee Margarita

Queen Bee Margarita

A traditional margarita is a mixture of tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice, and is often sweetened with agave, but we thought our honey would make an un-bee-lievable simple syrup…and it does.

Queen Bee Margarita
(tequila, lime, orange liqueur + honey simple syrup)
Serves 1

What You Need:
½ cup Savannah Bee Company Honey
½ cup water
1½ ounces silver tequila
1 ounce orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier, Triple Sec, or Cointreau)
1 ounce lime juice
Ice cubes
Flake sea salt and lime slices for garnish

What to Do:
1. Wash Up!

2. Make the honey simple syrup: Stir together the honey and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the honey dissolves. Set aside and let cool completely.

3. Make the cocktail: Combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and ½ to 1 ounce of the honey simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until thoroughly chilled.

To Serve: Strain the margarita into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a lime slice and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Pro Tip! For a Smokey Queen Bee Margarita, substitute Mezcal for the Silver Tequila.
