A purple-hued blend of fresh blackberries, mint, bourbon, ginger beer, and our bourbon barrel-aged honey makes for the ultimate cocktail. You’ll want to sip on this refreshing beverage all season long.
Blackberry Bourbon Smash
(fresh blackberries, port bourbon barrel honey, mint + bourbon)
Serves 1
What You Need:
6 blackberries
6 fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon Savannah Bee Company Honey (we used Port Bourbon Barrel Aged Orange Blossom Honey)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
¼ cup bourbon
Ginger beer for topping
Fresh blackberries, mint sprig, and violas for garnish
What to Do:
- Muddle the drink: Combine the blackberries, mint leaves, honey, and lemon juice in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Muddle to mash the berries and release the oils from the mint leaves. Stir in the bourbon.
To Serve: Pour the cocktail into a rocks glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a mint sprig, violas, and more blackberries.
Pro Tip: If you don’t have a muddler, use the handle of a wooden spoon to muddle.
