What exactly is Tupelo Honey?

Extracted from the blossoms of the tupelo tree, which blooms along the riverbanks and wetlands of the Southeastern United States, exclusively in Florida and Georgia, this honey is the stuff of legend.

The tupelo tree, specifically the white gum tupelo, produces flowers that honeybees adore. Because the bees are so fond of it, they will keep returning to that same tupelo blooms, ensuring the absolute pure flavor of sweet tupelo nectar. 

The Taste

Imagine the sweet notes of a classic honey, then imbue them with floral undertones of rosewater and cotton candy (yes, you read that correctly), swirling together in a buttery, smooth texture that melts in your mouth. Mild, delicate, buttery, floral – it's like capturing springtime in a jar. 

The Rarest of Them All

Here’s the thing—tupelo honey is rare. The flowering period of the tupelo tree is short and sweet (pun intended), lasting for only about two to three weeks in late April and early May.

What's more, the precise conditions required for the trees to bloom, combined with the exacting standards of harvesting and processing this honey, make it a meticulous process.
