Welcome to Beetopia

It’s finally here! Introducing Beetopia, a project years in the works, an oasis for pollinators and people alike, where a world of bees, flowers, and connection are waiting for you. 

Long before moving into our newest warehouse in Savannah, Savannah Bee Company founder Ted Dennard had been dreaming of a place where connection and education are the heart of the experience, where people of all ages can expand their understanding of the natural world through hands-on activities and shared exploration. “A meeting place for shared learning and research. A place of citizen science, where we are learning together from our collective observations. A place where we can be inspired to make small but meaningful differences in the lives of our pollinators” Ted explains.

This year, that dream became a reality with the opening of Beetopia. Designed as both a destination and a discovery, Beetopia invites guests to step into the world of the hive through guided bee tours, interactive learning experiences, tastings, and more. 

Arriving at Beetopia feels like stepping into a storybook. A vivid mural by artist Matt Willey from The Good of the Hive brings the building to life - giant painted butterflies, honey bees, and pollinators of all kinds tower above a garden buzzing with the very same creatures. “It’s a place where people feel good,” Ted explains, “like walking from a hectic outside into a calming oasis. A place to slow down, wander, and reconnect, where the hum of the outside world fades into something softer and more intentional” 

Every element of the garden has been designed with intention, from pollinator-friendly plantings to thriving micro-ecosystems that allow bees and other pollinators to live, feed, breed, and flourish. It’s not just a place to observe nature, but to witness it in motion. “It will hopefully keep growing as a thriving, productive system,” Ted explains, “where pollinators can live, feed, breed, and thrive right in front of us.”

Inside you’ll find a bright open space with an observation bee hive and educators ready to guide you deeper into the world of bees. As Beetopia continues to grow, so will the experiences. Expect guided mead tours, hive-inspired gifts, interactive learning centers, and new ways to connect with the hive in meaningful, lasting ways.

Beetopia is Savannah Bee Company’s most immersive expression of our mission, a love letter from us to the bees and to all of you, and we are so excited to share it with you.
