What to do:
Step 1: Shape the Flowers: Cut out leaf shaped petals and fold in half lengthwise to create dimension. Use scissors to “ruffle” and scallop the edges of the petals. Cut out 5-6 petals per flower. Once all petals are cut out, glue together at the base to form a flower using the hot glue gun.

Step 2: Paint the Flowers: Once Cool, Use the crafting awl to create a small hole big enough for the jewelry wire. Combine your chosen paint with some water and use the paint brush to splatter the petals. Don’t be too precise! Just go for it!
Step 3: Shape the Wire Leaves: While the paper flowers are drying, use the jewelry pliers to shape two leaves for each bloom. Be sure to loop the wire around itself in order to lock the changes in direction in place. Think of this as a “single line drawing” of two leaves.
Step 4: Wire the Crystals: Loop roughly 6 inches of golden wire around the center of two wire leaves where the flower will connect to the leaves. Feed the wires though the hole you created with your awl and put 4-8 crafting beads on each wire. they do not need to be the same. Add the crystal to the end and loop the wire around multiple times to secure the crystal.
To use:
Get a group of friends together for a summer dinner and decorate each place setting with one of your Paper Flowers! If this is a crafty group… why not have them make their own while dinner is finishing up (cocktails and gossip at the ready, of course)? Make sure you send the flowers home with your guests as a little memento of an evening spent laughing with friends.
