Denim Tree Centerpiece
Thrifted denim was upcycled into a tree centerpiece with this beginning crafters project! Run a forrest of denim trees down the middle of your table for a cowboy chic holiday (or any day) dinner party.
Denim Tree Centerpiece
makes 1
What you need:
1 (12") styrofoam cone
Denim pants waistbands in varying washes (2-3 depending on size of the pants)
Denim scraps in varying washes ripped into 1" wide strips (you can also use a denim ribbon)
Scissors
Gold pearl ball head straight pins (1.5" length)
1 piece of wood slightly larger than the base of your cone (optional)
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Craft the tree: Working from the top of the cone, cut a piece of your denim scraps or denim ribbon long enough to wrap around the point of the cone. Secure with gold pins as needed on the "back". Continue working down the tree alternating with denim scraps and the denim waistbands and overlapping the previous layer with the ends meeting in the back of the cone. Secure with pins as needed.
For the bottom layer, use the front of a waistband with rivets showing for a fun design element. Secure in the back with pins.
Finish by adding more gold pins to decorate the tree!
Sit atop a piece of wood and use as cowboy chic (and conversation worthy) centerpiece.
Pro Tip: Use varying sizes of styrofoam cones and create a handsome denim forest centerpiece.
