Tropical Fruit Salad in Watermelon Bowls
(rainbow of tropical fruits, Tupelo honey + honeycomb )
Serves 4 to 8
What you need:
2 sugar baby watermelons
2 dragon fruit
2 kiwi
½ pineapple
2 star fruit, sliced
2 guavas, cut into wedges
1 (6-ounce) container fresh red currants
Savannah Bee Company Honey (we used Tupelo Honey) for drizzling
Savannah Bee Company Raw Honeycomb, cut into chunks
What to do:
1. Wash Up!
2. Prep the watermelon: Cut the watermelons in half crosswise. Scoop out the red fruit, and cut into chunks, reserving the halves for serving.
3. Prep the remaining fruit: Cut the dragon fruit in half and use a melon baller to create bite-size balls. Cut the kiwi in half in a zig-zag shape. Cut the pineapple into bite-size wedges.
To Serve: Arrange the fruit inside the watermelon bowls. Drizzle with honey and top with honeycomb.
Pro Tip: Before cutting the watermelons in half, remove a small piece of each end so they’ll sit upright when you place them on the table.
