National Hot Toddy Day!

Each year on January 11th, we celebrate National Hot Toddy Day! A hot toddy is an alcoholic beverage typically including some variation of dark rum, bourbon, or brandy, fresh lemon or orange juice, ginger ale, cinnamon, cloves, honey, black tea, and hot water. Historical evidence of the "hot toddy" as a wintertime libation dates back to 18th century Scotland, Ireland, and England, although details are a wee bit dodgy! However, the word toddy is Indian in origin and refers to a fermented beverage made from the sap of the Toddy palm. Despite the toddy's murky origin, we do know for sure that these beverages are perfect for spreading good cheer and avoiding a damp winter chill. Check out these four delicious hot toddy recipes and save today on the featured honey varieties. Cheers!
