Green Beans with Black Sage Honey

Green Beans

Green Beans are one of our favorite side dishes here at Savannah Bee, and we love to add black sage honey to them. The natural savory smokey flavor of black sage honey really makes the fresh green beans pop! This is a quick and easy recipe that anyone can make, it's tasty and healthy!


1.5 – 2 pounds fresh green beans (washed & snapped if necessary)

1 red, yellow or orange bell pepper (sliced into long thin pieces – fajita style)

½ tsp minced garlic (or to taste if you prefer more)

¼ cup Black Sage Honey

¼ cup coconut aminos (or Worcestershire sauce)

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper (or more if you like it spicy)

Sea salt & Fresh ground peppercorn to taste

3 tablespoons olive oil divided


  1. In a small bowl with whisk or fork, mix coconut aminos and black sage honey together
  2. In large mixing bowl, Toss Green beans and bell pepper in 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  3. Add salt, pepper, crushed red pepper and toss again
  4. Heat 1 tbsp. olive oil in sauté skillet
  5. Add garlic. Stir until fragrant (about a minute)
  6. Add veggies. Sauté 8 – 12 minutes or to desired tenderness
  7. Add black sage honey mixture and stir over low heat for 2 more minute so veggies are fully coated in sauce
  8. Serve Hot with dinner or chill for a cool nutritious picnic side
