As a result of unusual spring and summer weather conditions in the growing region, Sourwood Honey is currently only available in 3oz mini pairs! Keep your fingers crossed for a bumper Sourwood harvest in September 2015!

Sourwood trees blossom late in June through August and need generous sunshine and rain to produce enough flowers to yield a honey crop, so this Southern Appalachian favorite is only available in "vintage" years. When harvested, Sourwood honey has beautiful lavender hues that slowly darken to a dusky straw color as it ages. This award-winning honey is big and complex with hints of maple and spice. Sourwood Honey boasts huge flavor and it's bright enough for basting grilled chicken or pork tenderloin. For a real Southern treat, drizzle some warm Sourwood Honey on a big ol' stack of flapjacks! KSA Kosher Certified.

Is there anything ABOVE 5 Stars?

I went to Savannah in August last year and didn't buy any honey and regretted it for the next 6 months, just got back with my Sourwood purchase and OH MY GOSH, I swear I DREAM of this honey!!! it is SO good.

Sourwood!!!!!Sourwood!!!!!Sourwood honey absoluteley luvvvvv sourwood in my Java.

Yes the honey is an absolute 10.

I rate this product a 10!!!!! So wish I could get me some more of this sourwood honey. Once you taste it, it is just hard to switch back to another honey. This honey is simply the best in coffee. I had a couple bottles and just am waiting to see when you're going to have some more. Picked up another bottle of Tupelo for my tea. Please crack open a BARREL. Please.

Pure Sourwood Honey is dark in color and thick in texture. The flavor of this fantastic honey can only be described as large and in charge! Sourwood honey is bold and up front, flaunting big maple and spice notes.

  • Pairings

Sourwood honey pairs well with everything. Once I saw Ted pouring it on pizza! Because of its big flavor Sourwood is perfect for marinades and sauces
  • Did You Know?

The Cherokee Indian tribes of the Appalachian states used the wood from the Sourwood tree to construct their arrows. Cherokee people would also chew Sourwood tree leaves to eliminate thirst and dry-mouth.
